Got a cool vase

I was looking for a small vase for my desk and saw some stuff from Kate Lally Ceramics. Ended up getting one of their bud vases. It's pretty neat, has a cool texture. It came in the mail pretty quick, no issues there. It was packed really well too, like in a lot of bubble wrap, so it arrived safe. Looks good with a few flowers in it, adds a nice touch to my office. Overall, good buy.

Good quality, delivery could improve

I ordered a stoneware mug and a ceramic soap dish from Kate Lally Ceramics. The pieces themselves are beautiful, really well-made and feel substantial. I love the glaze on the mug, it's very unique. Packaging was excellent, everything arrived intact, which is key for pottery. The only slight drawback was shipping time; it took about 8 days to get to me on the West Coast, which felt a bit long. Also, I wished there was a tracking update sooner after I placed the order. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase and the quality for the price, but faster shipping or more frequent updates would make it a perfect experience.

Good value on a first order

I was looking for a unique gift and found Kate Lally Ceramics. I signed up for their newsletter and got a 10% first order discount, which was a nice bonus. I used it to buy one of their decorative vessels. The price felt fair for a handmade item, especially with the discount. Shipping wasn't free, but the total cost was still within my budget. It arrived well-packaged and the piece itself looks very high quality. I felt like I got a good deal for something so unique.

Always reliable, great pieces

This is my third time ordering from Kate Lally Ceramics, and they are consistently great. I first bought a couple of tea bowls, then a serving platter, and this time I got a ceramic planter with drainage. Each piece has been perfectly made, just as described and pictured on the website. The quality never wavers, and they always package everything so carefully that I've never had a broken item. Shipping is also pretty standard, usually within a week. I keep coming back because I trust the craftsmanship and the unique designs they offer.

Love my new ramen bowl!

Oh my goodness, I just received my new ramen bowl and it's absolutely gorgeous! The color is even more vibrant in person, and it feels so sturdy and well-crafted. I used it last night and it made my dinner feel so much more special. I've been wanting a really nice, handmade bowl for ages and this totally exceeded my expectations. I'm already eyeing a matching pasta bowl for my next order. I'm going to tell all my friends about this store, you can tell so much care goes into each piece. I will definitely be a returning customer!

Considering getting a few pieces but East Fork also looks good. How does Kate Lally compare to East Fork, quality-wise?

F Faith J. 2 months ago
Kate Lally feels a bit more 'artisanal' to me, if that makes sense. East Fork is great, but KLC has a more unique, handmade vibe. Both are super high quality though.

I own pieces from both! East Fork is more uniform, machine-made looking, whereas Kate Lally feels very much like an artist made each piece. Both are durable, but KLC has more character IMO.

Has anyone tried to return something from Kate Lally? How was the process?

N Noor 1 month ago
I had to return a plate that wasn't quite what I expected. It was pretty straightforward, just follow the instructions on their site. You gotta pay for return shipping though, I think.

Yeah, returns were easy, did it last month. Just make sure you send it back in good condition.

Are their glazes actually safe for food? Like lead-free and all that?

S Steve 2 months ago
Yup, totally food safe. They mention it on their website. wouldn't buy if it wasn't.

Pretty sure all their glazes are lead-free. It's a big deal for handmade pottery, so most reputable makers like Kate Lally make sure of it.

Thinking of snagging something during a 'seconds' sale. How often do those happen, and how big are the discounts usually?

S Sophie R. 1 month ago
They don't happen super often, maybe a couple times a year. The discounts are pretty good though, I saw some stuff at 30% off last time for minor imperfections.

Seconds sales are rare, but worth it! Follow them on social media or sign up for emails, that's usually how they announce them. Expect 20-30% off usually.

Hey everyone, thinking of getting some mugs from Kate Lally. Anyone know how long shipping usually takes to, say, California?

S Shane S. 2 months ago
Mine took about a week and a half to get to LA. They're based in Ohio so it's a cross-country trip.

Yeah, I ordered a vase for a gift last month to San Diego and it was pretty quick. Maybe 7-10 days tops? They pack stuff really well too, super secure.

Is there usually a first-time discount code for signing up for the newsletter or anything like that?

G Greg 1 month ago
Yeah, usually. I got 10% off my first order when I signed up for their emails.

I think so? Most places do. It's usually a pop-up when you first visit the site, or they send it to your email after you subscribe.

Does anyone know if Kate Lally stuff is dishwasher safe? Don't want to ruin a nice mug.

J Julia Foster 2 months ago
Most of her pieces are. I've been putting my ramen bowls in the dishwasher for months with no issues.

N Nina 2 months ago
I always handwash my special pieces just to be safe, but their site usually mentions if it's dishwasher-safe for specific items. Worth checking the product page.
